The 15th Qianjiang International Cardiovascular Conference was successfully held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on September 25th, 2021. Renowned experts from the cardiovascular field in China introduced the significance, development status and clinical application of functional assessment indicators caFFR and caIMR, which were highly praised by the participants. As an important technology of digital functional diagnosis module, the wide application and popularity of caFFR and caIMR in the clinic has laid a solid foundation for the layout and development of RainMed medical interventional robot.
Prof. Yunlong Huo said that FFR evaluation is required for 90% of lesions. caFFR reconstructs 3D vascular models based on angiographic images and calculates blood flow velocities, combining real-time aortic pressure and optimized computational fluid dynamics methods to calculate FFR values with an accuracy of 95.7%, which can be used as a valid alternative to FFR, and its clinical superiority was confirmed by a retrospective follow-up study at St. Mary's Hospital in Hong Kong.
caIMR and caFFR form the digital function module of RainMed Medical interventional robot system. In the future, based on the accumulation of control algorithm, image navigation, image intelligence and evidence-based medicine, RainMed will start the development of pan-vascular diagnosis and treatment integrated robot to maximize the clinical advantages of the product for the benefit of patients.
